Yes, our dishes have to be zingy and hot and sour and mind-blowing and subtle and deep and satisfying and sensational. But they also need to be GOOD FOR YOU and not just your tastebuds.
That’s why we place such a BIG focus on sourcing the zingiest spring onions, hottest chilis, sourest lemons and…well you get the idea. Ingredients matter, yeah?
SO, we’ve started to work alongside the amazing Greenheart Organic Farms, right here in the UAE, to level up our ingredients list and to source not only the highest quality veggies – but also to source them organically as well as locally.
Why? So many reasons.
First up – their quality is next level because all are 100% chemical and pesticide-free, plus the guys at the farm use their own homemade and completely natural composts.
As a result of the complete lack of chemicals, they’re so much better for us as the entirety of what we’re consuming is utterly natural.
We’re also super pumped to be working with a farm right on our doorstep as this helps us to promote sustainable local agriculture in order to add to this growing economy here at home.
In turn, this means we’re limiting our carbon footprint by ensuring we’re not importing all of our ingredients from elsewhere, which is just the first step in transforming Asian5 into a fully environmentally-conscious operation. Keep your eyes here and on our social channels for more on this later this year.
AND SO – with ALL of this in mind, our veggies list will be going heavily organic by the end of the month…
…with the hope of extending this throughout our full market list of ingredients in the future.
As it stands, the following 16 fruits and vegetables will be organic (unless there are some unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances such as weather ruining crops etc.):
Banana, Broccoli, Tomato, Baby Marrow, Capsicum Red, Capsicum Green, Cucumber, Sweet Potato, Lollo Rosso, Beetroot, Cauliflower, Celery, White Cabbage, Carrot, Lemon and Spring Onion – meaning for example that our Sweet Potato Curry, Vegan Laksa, Freshrolls, Som Tam, Vegan Shumais (Beetroot and Veggie), Salads and Fried Banana Wonton dessert will be made using a majority of organic and local ingredients.
OK so in summary…get ready for our dishes to be even better – for your taste-buds, for you and for our environment.
Here are some of those dishes...
Biggest Green Loves and see you soon!
